A letter to my unborn son

Dear Son,

I am writing to you before you are even conceived. I don't know how long it'll be before I have you and get to play with you. I can't wait though. Before you are born, I already loved you. I dreamt of you since I was just a little boy. I would say it was my father who inspired me to one day be a dad. It is my hope that you will see me as a hero as I did with my dad. He wasn't perfect and neither will I be. Yet, you can always be sure that I will be there for you no matter what. You may face hard times when you get older. I will be there to guide you. To give whatever knowledge I have to make this life easier for you. Will life get hard? I hate to be the one to tell you that it does at time. You will have your heart broken once or twice. You will be betrayed by friends. You will have loved ones pass on to the after life. It is all part of life. But in life too, you will experience many great things. You'll have many great experiences, a wonderful wife and you will one day also have children. They will love you like I love you and like I loved my dad. You will be a hero to them. You will be strong, yet gentle. You will be better than I am. That is my prayer. No matter how it turns out from now until that day, I will always cherish you. I will be greatful to my future wife who will give birth to you. You are not even born yet and I can't wait to meet you.

Dad
